Bago Region Tourism: Plans Underway For Community Based Tourism Sites

Region Tourism Committee held their meeting 3/2021, and, Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win stressed that tourism sector is import both for the country’s economic development and the Region’s socioeconomic development. He also highlighted the efforts to create tourism destinations in the Region based on lake and reservoir.

This meeting continued with discussions and decisions on license permit and extension as well as transfer of ownership of license. Currently, Bago Region has Kha Paung eco resort, and plans are underway to create community based tourism sites in YwaThit Village in Bago and in BoneTaung Forest Reserve of Oktwin Township.
