Transport Sector: Ferry Between Kyauktaw and Paletwa After 2 Decades

Concerned officials have been making efforts for the smooth flow of commodities and public transport. In Rakhine and Chin states, a ferry service was launched to and from Kyauktaw Township of Mrauk-U District and Paletwa Township of Chin State.

The ferry service to and from Kyauktaw Township and Paletwa Township has begun after 2 decades of suspension. It’s reported that this ferry service takes 1 night to and from Kyauktaw Township of Rakhine State and Paletwa Township of Chin State. Rakhine State situated on the western coast is bordered by Chin State to the north. Kyauktaw Township of Rakhine State is 45 miles from Paletwa Township of Chin State.
