UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson reiterated his plea for people in Britain to "get that jab" as part of his Christmas message released on Friday.

Boris Johnson, UK Prime Minister said "And though the time for buying presents is theoretically running out there is still a wonderful thing you can give your family and the whole country and that is to get that jab, whether it's your first or second or your booster, so that next year's festivities are even better than this year. And in the meantime, I thank you and I wish you all a very merry Christmas."

Britain is currently undertaking a large scale booster programme as it looks to try and stop the spread of the new omicron variant of the coronavirus. Johnson's government is aiming to offer third vaccine dose to everyone 18 and up by December 31, a month ahead of the previous target.
