Dozens were feared dead Saturday after tornadoes and severe weather caused catastrophic damage across multiple US states, tearing through a candle factory in Kentucky, an Amazon facility in Illinois and a nursing home in Arkansas.

In Kentucky alone, 22 were confirmed dead by Saturday afternoon. State Governor Andy Beshear said upwards of 70 may have been killed when a twister touched down for more than 200 miles in his state and that the number of deaths could eventually exceed 100 across 10 or more counties.

President Joe Biden approved an emergency disaster declaration for Kentucky and pledged to support the states affected by a monstrous tornado.
