Russia fighters escort US, French jets over Black Sea

Russia scrambled three Su-27 fighter jets Thursday to escort several U.S. and French military planes in the Black Sea. Russia's Defense Ministry published video footage of the incident Friday.

The ministry said in a statement that the U.S. and French planes were intercepted over neutral waters flying toward the Russian border before changing course and no border violation had occurred.

The group of intercepted planes included two French fighter jets, two American reconnaissance aircraft and a French air refueling plane.
