Jordan PM welcomes US climate envoy in Amman

U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry met with Jordanian Prime Minister Bisher al-Khasawneh on Sunday in Amman. During the meeting, Kerry and Al-Khasawneh discussed the strategic partnership between Jordan and the United States.

Al-Khasawneh praised the support and assistance provided by the U.S. to Jordan, saying it contributed to supporting the efforts and the process of economic development. Talks during the meeting dealt also with ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries, especially over the environment and dealing with the challenges of climate change.

Kerry affirmed the United States' appreciation of Jordan's positions in support of security and stability in the region, stressing the country's support for Jordan in the areas of environmental protection and dealing with climate challenges.
