Brazil to recognize Russia's Sputnik V vaccine

Brazil's Foreign Minister Carlos Franca said on Tuesday that Brazil would recognize Russia's Sputnik V vaccine as soon as the World Health Organization approves it.

He was speaking in Moscow during a meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov. During the visit, Franca and Lavrov signed a plan on political consultations between the two foreign ministries for the years 2022-2025. Lavrov emphasized that Brazil is Russia's leading economic partner in Latin America. he said "In the first nine months of this year, our bilateral trade amounted to nearly $5 billion (US dollars), having risen by 75 percent".
