Cuba launched a massive COVID-19 vaccination campaign on Thursday for children between the ages of two and 10 with its home-produced vaccines, becoming the first nation to immunize such young children.

Local healthcare authorities indicated that the circulation of the Delta variant produced an increase in infections across the island, affecting the youngest.  Vaccination of young people between 11 and 18 years of age began in the previous weeks.   The scheme includes two doses of Soberana 02 and one of Soberana Plus.
