Efforts for IDPs: Meeting on Resettlement of IDPs and Closures of IDP Camps

National-level Committee on Resettlement of IDPs and Closures of IDP camps held the meeting 2/2021 on Wednesday.

In the meeting at the Ministry of Border Affairs, Chairman of the National-level Committee Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung explained matters including works for Resettlement of IDPs and Closures of IDP camps in Mrauk-U, Minbya and Ann townships of Rakhine State and cooperation with Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement and Rakhine State Administration Council to provide aid to IDPs in Namsan, Nanmatu and Hsipaw townships of Shan State and Hlaingbwe Township and MyaingGyiNgu area of Kayin State.

He also highlighted the need to plan budget and manage the donation from local and international communities.

Also, Vice Chairperson of the National-level Committee Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Thet Thet Khaing discussed matters including aid, vocational training, social harmony and social cohesion issues, data collection, social assistance and plans.

Members of the Committee made sector-wise presentation, and, Chairman and Vice Chairperson of the National-level Committee on Resettlement of IDPs and Closures of IDP camps coordinated.
