Covid-19 Report: 478 New Cases Reported At 8 P.M. On Jan. 20

Ministry of Health and Sports reported 478 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Wednesday after testing a total of 20,476 lab specimens within 24 hours, 11 new deaths and 657 patients discharged from the hospitals on 20th January. COVID-19 confirmed cases in Myanmar have reached 135,721 with 2,997 deaths and 119,314 patients discharged from the hospital until 8 p.m. on 20th January.

The World’s worst-hit countries are United States of America, India, Brazil, Russian Federation, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, Germany and Colombia, according to the World Health Organization. Globally, as of 8:36pm CET, 20 January 2021, there have been over 94.96 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 2.05 million deaths, reported to WHO.

Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment. Older people and those with underlying medical problems are more likely to develop serious illness.
