COVID-19 Update: 923 New COVID-19 Cases at 8 p.m. on Dec. 23

Ministry of Health and Sports reported 923 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Wednesday after testing a total of 23,072 lab specimens within 24 hours, 23 new deaths and 1,506 Patients discharged from the hospitals on 23rd December. COVID-19 confirmed cases in Myanmar have reached 118,869 with 2,507 deaths and 99,325 patients discharged from the hospital until 8 p.m. on 23rd December.

The World’s worst-hit countries are United States of America, India, Brazil, Russian Federation, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Germany and Argentina, according to the World Health Organization.

Globally, as of 4:44pm CET, 23 December 2020, there have been over 76.85 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 1.71 million deaths, reported to WHO. Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment. Older people and those with underlying medical problems are more likely to develop serious illness.
