COVID-19 Update: 964 New COVID-19 Cases at 8 p.m. on Dec. 22

Ministry of Health and Sports reported 964 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Tuesday after testing a total of 23,485 lab specimens within 24 hours, 19 new deaths and 1,134 Patients discharged from the hospitals on 22nd December.

COVID-19 confirmed cases in Myanmar have reached 117,946 with 2,484 deaths and 97,819 patients discharged from the hospital until 8 p.m. on 22nd December.

The World’s worst-hit countries are United States of America, India, Brazil, Russian Federation, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Argentina and Germany, according to the World Health Organization. Globally, as of 4:13pm CET, 22 December 2020, there have been over 76.25 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 1.69 million deaths, reported to WHO.

Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment. Older people and those with underlying medical problems are more likely to develop serious illness.
