Iraq and Saudi Arabia reopened the main border crossing for trade between the two nations on Wednesday after three decades of closure.
The Saudi Ambassador to Iraq took part in a ribbon-cutting ceremony alongside Iraq's interior minister.
The Arar crossing was closed at the beginning of the 1990s, following Iraq's invasion of Kuwait, which led to the severing of diplomatic links between Riyadh and Baghdad. Diplomatic ties were not restored until 2015.
The reopening of the crossing represents a key step toward firming up relations and deepening Iraq-Saudi economic cooperation.
Iraqi officials hope the re-opening of Arar will boost trade activity and provide a much needed boost to Iraq's economy.
