Young people between the ages of 11 to 17 are encouraged to participate in the competition, organized by the UN in Myanmar.

A Video Contest 'The SDGs and Me’ aims to raise awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

It encourages all young people who are missing school due to COVID-19 to participate in a competition which will help them learn about peace, prosperity and the environment. At the same time, it will give them a creative platform to share their vision of the future.

The participants are being encouraged to think about the SDGs which are most important for the future.

With the use of their smart phones, the participants are to create content which can then be viewed and shared with more people on Facebook. The most popular (‘People’s Choice) and powerful (Judges’ Choice) videos stand to receive special prizes of 400,000 Kyat each.

The participants might create a song, a poem, a video statement, a series of statements from more than one person.

The statement should reflect the UN goals of peace, dignity and a healthy planet and explain in some way the value of the SDGs in Myanmar. The audio-visual competition is part of the “UN75” year which focus on “the world’s biggest conversation” where all people are being asked to think of the role the UN should have in people’s lives.
