PROVIDING ASSISTANCE: SALES OF FOODSTUFF AT HALF PRICE IN HPA-AN

Hpa-An Township in Kayin State has seen COVID-19 positive patients which is considered to be the cases of local transmission.

As of 3rd October, there are 53 confirmed cases of COVID-19 disease with 29 recoveries. Among them, 31 cases are from Hpa-An Township and 26 of them have already recovered, according to the Ministry of Health and Sports.

Hpa-An Township General Administration Department is providing necessary assistance to the villages that have found COVID-19 positive patients in the township.

Administrator, Hpa-An Township General Administration Department, Sein Htay Aung said "At present, COVID-19 positive patients have been tested in three villages of Hpa-An Township.
We provide foodstuff free of charge to some villages that are facing difficulties for foods, or sell the foodstuff with half price."

6 Pyis of rice, one viss each of onion, pigeon pea and potato, 8 boxes of canned fish and 2 packages of salt are being sold with half of the original prices at 7,500 kyats at HtaTaPin Village where one positive patient was tested.

Administrator, Hpa-An Township General Administration Department, Sein Htay Aung said "We are here selling five kinds of basic foods including rice, pigeon pea, onion, canned fish and potato with half of the original price. We also provide one viss of edible oil to each household free of charge."

For the convenience of the village residents who are not allowed to go out, the necessary assistance has been provided as instructed by the Kayin State Government.
