Locals in PyaPon enjoyed the sales of rice with 1000 kyats per Pyi during COVID-19 Stay at Home period.

PyaPon Township Rice Millers and Merchants Association organized the sales for the convenience of the grassroots people starting 30th September.

Chairman, PyaPon Township Rice Millers and Merchants Association, Ohn Han said "We have heard the sales of rice with high price at the sub-urban areas. Actually, the wholesale market in PyaPon didn't change the price. But the retail market have seen the price hike.

He also suggests arrangements for running cargo trucks in line with the health instructions to avoid high price of other basic consumer goods.

Chairman, PyaPon Township Rice Millers and Merchants Association, Ohn Han said "Since rice is produced in our region, there will be no difficulty to buy it.
But other basic foods like onion and chili have to transport via Yangon. It needs to make arrangement to run truck cargos between PyaPon and Yangon in line with the COVID-19 prevention measures."

PyaPon Township is one of the three townships in Ayeyawady Region that included in the Stay at Home Program together with Pathein and MaUBin Townships.
