Torrential rains, strong winds and high tide hit Laung Lone township, Dawei District, Taninthayi region on Saturday and it caused destroying houses as well as road and bridge damages in some villages near the sea.
Due to the disaster, 19 houses were destroyed in San Hlan village and 2 houses in Kyauk Ni Maw village.
About 60 houses were flooded as well as a water retaining wall, a concrete road and a bridge were damaged in some villages.
It was reported no casualties and the relevant administrators and officials accommodated the affected households at the safer places, according to the township Administration Department.
