New Currency Note: 500-Kyat Banknote Circulated From The Banks To Public On 21st July

500-kyat new banknote featuring Bogyoke Aung San can be exchanged at Myanma Economic Banks starting 21st July.

The new 500-kyat currency note with the picture of Bogyoke Aung San has been issued in commemoration of Martyrs’ Day.

The obverse side of the banknote depicts National Leader Bogyoke Aung San as the main portrait, and its reverse is printed with the building of Central Bank of Myanmar. The size of new banknote is 150 mm in length and 70 mm in width. Its prominent colour is red brown.

The Central Bank of Myanmar has announced that 500-kyat banknote featuring Bogyoke Aung San has been officially rolled out on 19th July and circulated from the banks to public on 21st July. The existing 500-kyat note which is in circulation will continue to be legal tender currency.
