
The Ministry of Health and Sports reported one new case of COVID-19 found on Sunday at 8:00 a.m. according to the lab results of the National Health Laboratory (Yangon) and Public Health Laboratory (Mawlamyaing). A total of 989 lab specimens were tested and one new confirmed case was found.
The new confirmed case patient is 54 years old woman from Tonzang Township, Chin State. She has travel history to India and is put under quarantine in Tiddim Township and she is admitted to receive medical treatment in Tiddim Township People’s Hospital. As of 8:00 am on 19th July, there are 341 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar with 6 deaths and 273 recoveries.
According to the COVID-19 Dashboard of the World Health Organization (WHO) as of 18th July at 5:01 pm CEST, the World’s worst-hit countries are United States of America with over 3.5 million confirmed cases, followed by Brazil with over 2.01 million confirmed cases and India with over 1.08 million cases.
The Russian Federation, Peru, South Africa, Chile, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Iran (Islamic Republic of), Pakistan and Spain include in high confirmed cases of COVID-19. Globally, there have been over 13.8 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 593,087 deaths, according to the WHO report.
