Covid-19 Impacts: Hotels And Resorts In Kawthaung Inspected For Reopening

The hotels and resorts in Kawthaung District of Thaninthayi Region were inspected for reopening on Monday, according to the Information and Public Relations Department.

Hotels in the Taninthayi Region temporary closed to prevent further spreading of Coronavirus pandemic until now.

To be able to resume the operation, a team comprised of concerned officials from the department of Public Health, the General Administration Department, factory and general Labor laws inspection department, the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population, Myanmar Anti-human-trafficking police force, as well as the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism inspected the hotels and resorts in the region whether they follow the instructions and guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and Sports to prevent the further spreading of COVID-19.

There are about 5 hotels in Kawthaung township area and 7 hotels and resorts at islands around the region.

Although most of the hotels and guesthouses in the township areas relied on the local visitors, those hotels and resorts on the islands rely on the foreign visitors and tourists especially from Thailand.

But due to the COVID-19 preventive measures in neighboring Thailand, it is not easy to resume the businesses like before, , it’s leant.
