10.71 million students to sit college entrance exam starting Tuesday in China

An estimated 10.71 million students will sit this year's college entrance examination, also known as gaokao, starting Tuesday across China. The number is 400,000 more than in the previous year.  In this year, there are more than 7,000 examination sites and about 400,000 examination rooms across China, with around 945,000 teaching staff participating in the related work.

This is the largest organized collective activity nationwide since the outbreak of the COVID-19. Gaokao is normally held in June. This year's exam was postponed for one month due to the epidemic.
