Myanmar Construction Entrepreneurs Association (MCEA) has been working to create job opportunities for Myanmar construction workers including engineers who returned from abroad due to the impact of COVID-19. The jobs will be created in cooperation with the member construction companies of the Association. The returned construction workers have to contact the Association no later than the 15th of July for their job opportunities.
General Secretary, Myanmar Construction Entrepreneurs Association (MCEA), Myo Myint said “Due to the impact of COVID-19, Myanmar construction workers in abroad lost their jobs and returned to Myanmar. So, our Association wants to tackle the situation by creating job opportunities for them. As far as I know, there are various types of workers who returned – some are civil engineers … some are electricians … safety officers, pipe men and bricklayers. My company alone can hire 50 or 60 percent of those returnees. Other companies will also hire if they are skillful, I’m sure.”
According to the Myanmar Construction Entrepreneurs Association, the number of construction workers who returned Myanmar through border gates is over 5,000.
