Relief Flight: 150 Myanmar Nationals Brought Back Home

150 Myanmar nationals who stranded in the United Kingdom and some countries were brought back to Myanmar for the second time from Heathrow Airport in London by the relief flight of the Qatar Airways on Sunday.

The returnees included 178 Myanmar seamen who stranded on board 9 ships docked at the ports of the Britain and who stranded in Brazil and Germany to leave for Myanmar after completion of their duties as well as 72 Myanmar citizens from the United Kingdom and the neighbouring Europe countries amidst COVID-19 pandemic.

As they arrived at Yangon International Airport on Monday morning, officials from the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population, the Ministry of Health and Sports and the Yangon Region government helped for their 21-day quarantine period in line with the regulations of immigration and medical checks.

With the arrangement of the relevant shipping companies and the Myanmar embassies, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs arrange relief flights and chartered planes to bring back Myanmar people from foreign countries and about 1,000 seamen have been repatriated to Myanmar to date.
