Safe Rest: Highway Police Force Notified Safety of Travelers

The office of Yangon-Mandalay Highway traffic police force released a statement notifying the family vehicles travelled using highway to take their short rest at nearest police stations and police posts during the Thingyan festival holidays and COVID-19 restrictions.

The traffic will noticeably reduce due to the temporary restriction of some regions and states on the transportation of the highway buses and express passenger vehicles from 7th to 21st April. So, the family vehicles are notified to take a rest at the nearest police stations and police posts under any circumstances for the travelers’ personal and property safety.
A police captain of highway police force suggested the travelers with family vehicles stop at the police stations, police posts or nearest area of them at the time of travelling along the Yangon-Mandalay Highway.

Police Major, Highway Police Force, Zarni Maung said "The restaurants, rest camps, passengers express vehicles are restricted in the respective regions and states. During this period, the traffic will really be thin. So, the travelers are suggested to have meals, take a short rest, go water closet etc. at the traffic police stations or police posts or nearest area. There are 16 police stations and 42 police posts along the Yangon-Mandalay highway.:

Along the highway, traffic police stations situated 20 miles apart and the traffic police posts 5 miles apart.
