Pompeo meets U.K. Foreign Secretary Raab amidst Iran crisis

British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab met his American counterpart, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in Washington on Wednesday to discuss the ongoing crisis between the United States and Iran.

On Sunday, Raab called for de-escalation following an American airstrike that killed top Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani. President Donald Trump on Wednesday abandoned days of angry rhetoric and suggested Iran was "standing down" after it launched missiles at U.S. forces in Iraq overnight, as both sides looked to defuse a crisis over the killing of Soleimani.
