


Most of interesting, remarkable, unique and beautiful places in Myanmar are packed with visitors across the country during Thadingyut public holidays.
Shan State is famous for its ecotourism like Inle Lake, floating villages and markets, Mwedaw Kakku Sutaungpyae Pagoda, Htan San cave, Pindaya Cave and many other tourist destinations. Inle Lake was crowded with holiday-makers and visitors during Thadingyut period and the Thadingyut holiday usually coincides with the annual ceremonial tour of Inle Phaungdaw Oo Buddha’s images.
Most of visitors and holiday-makers spend their holidays in Shan State while paying a visit to Inle. Inle is the second largest lake in Myanmar and it is fresh water lake. Traditional weaving of textiles with fiber, silk and cotton hand-weaving, workshops of goldsmiths and blacksmiths in villages around the lake are popular with tourists and local visitors as well.
Hotelier (Mandalay), Tun Linn Kyi said “I pay a visit to Inle because my children have holidays now. I want them to visit here. I have been here for 3 or 4 times but it's the first time for my children. I enjoy more to visit here this time as it is coincide with Paungdaw Oo Pagoda festival. We have witnessed the things I have never seen before. After Inle, we will visit Htan San cave in Taunggyi.”
Some visitors choose Htan San cave in Taungyi first to pay a visit during their holiday time. Htan San Cave is a natural limestone cave and it is famous for breathtakingly beautiful scenery of stalactites and stalagmites.
Visitor (Mandalay), Win Tun said “I come here with my wife, my son and my employees, altogether 8. I have been here but my wife and my employees have not been. So, I want them to pay a visit here. I always spend my holidays with my family.”
Visitor (Mandalay), Wint Theinggi said “I'm so happy to pay a visit with my family on holidays. And then, we will go to Inle. If we have holidays in the next month, we have a plan to visit Taunggyi Tazaungdaing festival.”
Not only holiday-makers but also local and foreign visitors flocked to unique places in Shan State as this time is at the beginning of opening season in Myanmar.
Visitor (Japan), Masako Nakamura said “This is my first time here. Beautiful! I really impress on beautiful scenery. This is beautiful area. We see nice beautiful pagodas and nice view around here. It's really good atmosphere. Now, we are visiting Inle and then here too. ….. It's nice. I really like Myanmar and really enjoy the life here. And people are nice.”
This year, people have five consecutive Thadingyut holidays which normally have three days. So, they go more trips than last year. In Shan State, visitors flock not only to Inle but also to Mwedaw Kakku Pagoda, Indein village, Htan San cave, Kalaw, Taunggyi and other interesting destinations.
