


With the support of USAID, the U.S. Embassy hosted a launch party for the music video “Don’t’ give up hope” by 13 Myanmar artists on Sunday.
The U.S. Embassy provided support for the music video to give the important messages about supporting people who have a problem with drugs and hoping them and bringing them back to the community with love. Deputy Chief of Mission of the U.S. Embassy stressed drug related issues including addiction and how to solve drug related problems.
Deputy Chief of Mission, U.S. Embassy, George N. Sibley said “…it is a very serious problem and it actually growing more widespread and becoming bigger problem over time.” “We are doing today is try to talk about how you drugs the people who are suffering because the addict and suffering you know that family are suffering to of course the addict of suffering so dealing as a human level to try to help them, support them and love them”.
The music video “Don’t give up hope” tells the stories of communities struggling with drugs.
Music Producer, Chan Aye Win said “I created this music video involving 13 famous singers together with composer Shwe Gyaw Gyaw to show the theme and messages to the audience about drug addiction and comfort to the drug users. I’d like to say “Say No to drugs”.
Support from families and friends can change the situation relating to drugs, an official said.
Project Director, USAID HIV/AIDS Flagship Project, Dr. Yin Min Thaung said “528 love facebook page is one of our activities. Our project is in cooperation with many partner organizations for drug addiction treatment and health care as well as HIV disease prevention. We also carry out education program. Drug abuse is very dangerous so we need to eradicate it. I would like to say to the drug addicts ‘never give up’ as we are ready to help.”
The music video “Don’t’ give up hope” is expected to provide drug addicts, families and community encouragement.
