



The Peace Leadership and Research Institute (PLRI) launched report in collaboration with Tha Byay foundation and Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, Yangon on Thursday.
There are 6 reports from the fellowships and these are about perspectives of ethnic armed organizations and civil society, the deadlocking factors in Myanmar’s peace process, increasing youth participated in Myanmar’s peace building process through collaboration, experiences of political and social marginalization of ethnic minorities in Karenni, the experiences of minorities in northern Rakhine State during violent conflict and public trust in Myanmar police force: exploring the influencing factors.
Alumni from the Peace and Leadership Research Institute 2018 made case study for the reports, aiming to support efforts for the realization of sustainable peace in Myanmar.
Co-founder, Peace leadership and research institute, Saw Myo Min Thu said “Our aim is to nurture outstanding youths to participate and support the leaders who lead the peace process in Myanmar. We invited people and different organizations which are interested in Myanmar peace process. We instruct the basic guidelines of research, how to do it and how to apply to the fellows. We’d like to invite all who are interested in Myanmar peace process to participate in the next fellowship program.”
21 fellows from different backgrounds throughout the country participated in the 1 year program. The research participants were selected from Mro, Khami, Thet, Mramagyi, Daing Net, Kaman ethnic groups and Hindus who had been directly affected by the conflicts in northern Rakhine, said fellowship from PLRI.
Fellow, Htoo htet naing said “We do data research altogether which about perspectives of grassroots level people who were involved experiences
of conflict in northern Rakhine. In our research, we explore some findings related in their perspectives and why the conflict happened, what kinds of conflict prevention should be implemented in the future.”
The talk relating to the reports from fellowships was also included at the event.
