Swelling River: Schools Shut Temporarily In Taninthayi

Taninthayi River has reached above its danger level at Taninthayi Township, Myeik District in Taninthayi Region as of 27th August for the second time.

4 basic education schools have been closed temporarily starting August 31st afternoon because of swelling Taninthayi River. 7 schools have been shut in the afternoon of 30th August. So far, a total of 11 schools have been closed temporarily because of safety of the students, according to the township Education Officer Office.
