China's lunar rover Yutu-2 has sent back a new panorama image of the lunar surface. The new panorama image, which shows various sizes of craters, gravels and tracks of Yutu-2 on the Moon some 380,000 kilometers away from the Earth, was beamed back ahead of the Mid-Autumn Festival and released on Friday.
The Chang'e-4 lunar probe, consisting of a lander and the Yutu-2 rover, touched down on the Moon on January 3, 2019, marking the first-ever soft landing on the previously uncharted area of the lunar surface. Four years on, Yutu-2, named after the pet rabbit of the legendary Chinese moon goddess Chang'e, has collected valuable data on solar wind and cloddy soil research, gel-like rocks and craters on the Moon.
