



The 7th Anniversary of Yangon Stock Exchange took place on the 25th of March in Yangon. Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Chairman of the Supervisory Commission for Securities Exchange Deputy Minister for Planning and Finance U Maung Maung Win and officials attended the event.
At the ceremony, the deputy minister said that the Yangon Stock Exchange, established as a joint venture between the Myanma Economic Bank, Japan's Daiwa Research Group and the Japan Stock Exchange Group, launched its operations on 9 December 2015. It has been 7 years since FMI, the first listed company, started receiving and trading shares on 25 March 2016.
The government lists the relaxation of Corporate Income Tax for companies on the Yangon Stock Exchange is enacted every year when the Union Tax Law is promulgated yearly for contributing to competitiveness of these listed companies in the market. He continued that the listed companies need to properly conduct their business in accordance with existing laws, and on the other hand, they need to adhere to good corporate governance systems and transparent disclosure systems.
Also, the Managing Director of Yangon Stock Exchange, UMFCCI President and Chairman of the Myanmar Certified Public Accountants Association delivered speeches. This event also included a discussion on the topic of Future Growth with Financing Options in Myanmar.
