Youth Talks : MOI Union Minister tours in Shan State (East)

Union Minister for Information U Htein Lin encouraged young people to actively contribute to community and national development at a youth talk show held at Keng Tung City Hall on Friday.

During the talk show, the students from Polytechnic University (Kyaing Tong), Keng Tung University, Keng Tung Education Degree College and Keng Tung Nursing Training School discussed five topics on youth and technology, drugs, sports, health and literature.

The Union Minister said the discussions could help young people exchange knowledge and ideas, improve their abilities, understand different perspectives and strengthen unity and cooperation. He also presented cash prizes to participating students and viewed exhibition booths.

During the visit, the Union Minister presented MRTV DTH, CANAL+, Sky Net DTH and Myansat DTH for the local military station and the administration council of Shan State (East). The Union Minister later inspected satellite reception equipment and broadcasting operations at the Myanma Radio and Television (MRTV) relay station in LoiMwe, and provided guidance to staff.

He also met with officials and staff from the Keng Tung District Information and Public Relations Department (IPRD), MRTV relay station and Keng Tung News Agency of News and Periodicals Enterprise. During the meeting, he stressed the importance of disseminating accurate and timely information about government activities, regional development, local livelihoods and ethnic cultural heritage.

The Union Minister and party later inspected the children’s reading room, the public library, exhibition booths and records of educational activities conducted by the Keng Tung District IPRD.
