UNESCO announced the winners of the fifth edition of the International Photo Contest “Youth Eyes on the Silk Roads”. Nay Lin Htun from Myanmar won the 2nd prize at the category 2 (18-25) years old of the Contest.

The theme of the photo is "Light Between Temples, Myanmar". The photo highlights Kakku Pagoda shines with countless candles, and Pa-O women illuminate at the pagoda in the Festival of Lights, Myanmar. UNESCO mentioned that this photo symbolizes the Silk Roads’ essence, where diverse traditions unite.

The Kakku Pagoda Festival reflects the Silk Roads' lasting legacy through shared heritage. This photo contest is organized within the framework of the UNESCO Silk Roads Programme of the Social and Human Sciences Sector.

It brings an exciting opportunity for young people from across the globe to capture their understanding of the shared heritage of the Silk Roads through the lens of their camera. In this edition, participants were invited to ‘reveal the Silk Roads’ by focusing on the theme of “Architecture, Monuments, and Urbanism”.
