Youth Development: Work Coordination Meeting held

Myanmar Youth Affairs Central Committee’s Work Coordination Meeting (1/2024) was held with the attendance of Central Committee Chairman, Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan and Vice Chairmen of the Committee, Union Minister for Education Dr. Nyunt Pe, Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw, Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Soe Win, committee members and officials in person while Youth Affairs Committee Chairmen from Nay Pyi Taw Council, Regions and States joining online.

At the meeting, the Central Committee Chairman gave a speech saying that Youth Affairs National Strategic Plans are being implemented while raising the youth properly in a right way for the development of the country, and the focal Ministries are putting efforts for the development of youth affairs in cooperation with related ministries, government, INGOs, NGOs and international organizations under the instruction of the Central Committee.

He continued to say that youth are needed to be raised systematically to become disciplined and developed consciousness with full of five physical strengths as they are going to shoulder State’s duties in all sectors, and he urged to open summer classes including sports, computer, English, cultural training and painting for the multi-sector development of the youth in Nay Pyi Taw Council, regions and states.

He added that Myanmar is taking responsibilities of ASEAN Ministerial Meeting for Youth (AMMY) for 2023-24 and is going to host AMMY and related meetings in November 2024 so that all the related ministries under the Central Committee are needed to cooperate.

Afterwards, the Central Committee Vice Chairmen from discussed the work implementation measures and committee secretary explained the works that have done through the decisions of Work Coordination Meeting (1/20220).

Additionally, the Youth Affairs Committee Chairmen from Nay Pyi Taw Council, Regions and States reported work undertakings and discussed further work plans for the development of Youth and on which the Central Committee Chairman, Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan supplemented the needs.
