In Ye Gyi lake is the main life blood of the locals in ​​Kyonpyaw Township and various fish resources can be produced annually from the lake to meet the local fish consumption. At In Ye Gyi lake, archer fish or spinner fish that is a type of decorated fish have been discovered and further research works are being conducted regarding this archerfish species.

Department of Fisheries ,Than Aung Maw said " Various local fish species such as carps, mrigal, snakehead and Tilapia are produced from the lake. Also, a newly fish species named archerfish had been discovered. It’s a kind of fish that preys on land-based insects and other small fish with their unique catching method and research activities are underway for this new fish species.

In Ye Gyi is a 7-nautical mile natural fresh water lake where 5 villages are located in the lake and 13 villages outside the lake.

Local fish breeder ,Than Zaw Win said "30 million rohu fish and 15 million catla fish have been bred in In Ye Gyi lake. There are about 80 fishing workers during the fishing season. More fish species have been bred this year in compared with the previous year in order to have a better fish production and systematic measures for conserving fingerlings are being undertaken.

The duck eggs from In Ye Gyi lanke are also well known to have a better taste than from other regions as the ducks from the lake have only the natural weeds and winkles from the lake.

Duck Breeder ,Hla Htay said " I breed 200 ducks. As we feed them such as weeds, small fish and shrimps, the tastes of the eggs are better than other local duck eggs."

There are 30 lakes and a total of 467.5 acres of fish breeding ponds in Kyonpyaw Township and more than 20 million visses of fish are produced every year and a lot of fish can be produced from In Ye Gyi lake, it’s learnt.
