Yangon Water Bus: Operation to be resumed on 6th October

Although it has been reported that Yangon Water Bus will resume on 1st October, it will resume operation on 6th October, marking the anniversary of launching Yangon Water Bus. Since October, 2017, Yangon water bus was run at 7 ports in the Yangon River with 5 vessels at the port stops such as Botahtaung, Lan Thit, KyiMyinTaing, Shwe Padauk, Insein port as the starting routes.

Yangon Water Bus which has been suspended for more than 2 years due to COVID-19 outbreak will be resumed operation on 6th October. Currently, Yangon water bus will run at Botahtaung, Pansoedan, Lan Thit, Sar Par Chaung and Ant Gyi port station as the initial route. Plans are being made to install the pay system for making payment.

About 75% of routes for public recreation have already been planned and prepared and plans are underway to reschedule the routes in connection with the relevant departments.
