Yangon Region Chief Minister Cup: Chinlone Tournament kicks off with 14 teams

The opening ceremony of the 2025 Yangon Region Chief Minister Cup Chinlone Tournament was held on Wednesday at the Thuwunna National Indoor Stadium (1) in Thingangyun Township.

Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein attended the event and made an opening speech, highlighting Chinlone as a part of Myanmar’s cultural heritage. He encouraged athletes to aim for national and international success.

Athletes pledged the four sportsmanship values, followed by performances and demonstration matches of selected players and artists. The tournament will be held from July 30 to August 2 with 14 teams competing.
