Xi meets Russian State Duma chairman

Chinese President Xi Jinping received Vyacheslav Volodin, chairman of the Russian parliament’s lower house, the State Duma, in Beijing on Tuesday. Xi expressed his hope that both sides will actively carry out exchanges of experience in governance and legislation, thus providing a more solid legislative guarantee for China-Russia strategic coordination and cooperation in various fields.

As China will hold a grand event to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, Volodin said Russia is willing to celebrate the hard-won victory with China, pay tribute to the martyrs and join hands to create a bright future.
