Xi-Botswanan President meeting

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Botswanan President Masisi announced the establishment of China-Botswana strategic partnership during their meeting in Beijing on Thursday. The meeting was held after the opening ceremony of the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).

During the meeting, he said China stands ready to work together with Botswana to effectively implement outcomes of the Summit to better benefit people of the two countries. Masisi expressed appreciation for China’s support to Botswana, noting Botswana is willing to take the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations next year as an opportunity to promote further growth of bilateral relations.
