







A commemoration ceremony for World Rabies Day was held in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday, under the theme "Rabies: All for 1, One Health for All."
Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation U Min Naung attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. He stated that World Rabies Day activities have been organized by international organizations to raise awareness about the prevention of rabies.
In Myanmar, there has been a decrease in rabies infections, and collaborative efforts are required to eradicate this disease by 2030.
Union Minister U Min Naung emphasized that the Livestock Breeding and Veterinary Department drafted the National Action Plan for Rabies Elimination in Dogs in 2018, following stakeholder consultations with experts from partner organizations, private institutions, and international organizations.
Ongoing efforts aim to achieve the target of zero rabies infections by 2030, and he called for the cooperation of all concerned individuals to attain this goal.
Subsequently, officials provided updates on rabies elimination efforts in their respective areas. Following the commemoration ceremony, Deputy Minister Dr. Aung Gyi and officials oversaw the administration of rabies vaccines in Lewei Township.
