World Meteorological Day: 65th anniversary celebration held in Nay Pyi Taw

65th anniversary World Meteorological Day was observed at the Ministry of Transport and Communications in Nay Pyi Taw on Sunday. Member of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister General Mya Tun Oo attended the ceremony and made an opening speech.

The ceremony also saw the screening of video message, sent by the Secretary General of World Meteorological Organization, followed by the commemorative video clip on the World Meteorological Day. During the event, prizes were presented to the winners of commemorative article contest.

The ceremony also featured the display of commemorative exhibition by the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology. In addition, 18 papers on Meteorology, Hydrology and Earthquake fields were presented by the officials and staff from the Ministry of Transport and Communication, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, the Ministry of Electric Power and the Ministry of Education.
