World Heart Day 2023: Union Minister for health attends the ceremony

The commemorating ceremony of World Heart Day 2023 was held at the Wunna Theikdi StadiumĀ in Nay Pyi Taw and it was attended by Union Minister for Health Professor Dr.Thet Khaing Win.

At the ceremony, Union Minister made an opening speech saying that more than 20.5 million of population dies around the world annually due to the heart attack and blood vessel diseases and 85% of these deaths are due to the sudden heart attack, cerebral embolism, and Brain aneurysm and stoke.

He said that the Ministry of Health is being carried out the National Strategic Plan for the Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases for 2023-2027 to reduce the incidence and mortality of other non-communicable diseases including heart attack and vascular disease.

Union Minster stressed that the Ministry has been carried out to cooperate with international organizations and organizations in Southeast Asian regions to develop the modern therapies and technologies, and has planned to open the Coronary Care Units in the hospitals of regions and states.

After that, Union Minister and party toured around the World Heart Day commemorating exhibitions and encouraged the second day of heart health screening process.

The awareness activities of pre-commemorating World Health Day, medical treatments and heart health screening have provided for a total of 700 personnel from the Union Level organizations and relevant Ministries in 28th and 29th September, and the medical services will continued provide in other days.
