The commemoration ceremony of World health day (2023) was held at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Health (No.4) in Nay Pyi Taw on the morning of 7th April.
In his speech, the Union Minister said that the World Health Organization (WHO) was established in 1948 and now, it has been 75th year of Diamond Jubilee this year, Myanmar started participating as a member country on 1st July, 1948. Since 1950, April 7th is designated as World Health Day when the World Health Organization has established, and member countries have been annually celebrating commemoration ceremonies and activities to commemorate World Health Day.
It has been set "Health for All" as this year’s theme to mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the World Health Organization. The Union Minister added that 3 townships with the best performance award in public health work during 2022 and 3 model hospital awards for 2022 will be awarded on World Health Day this year. By doing so, basic health care activities will be more successful nationwide by knowing the operations of award-winning townships and model hospitals as an ideal type.
Next, a video clip commemorating the World Health Day was shown and the best performance award in public health work and model hospital awards were awarded by the Union Minister and officials.
