






To mark the 35th anniversary of the convention on the rights of the child, the celebration of World Children’s Day was held at the City Hall of Taung Gyi on Wednesday.
At the ceremony, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung mentioned that the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child was adopted at the 44th session of the United Nations General Assembly held on November 20, 1989, to promote and protect the rights of children around the world.
To commemorate that day, November 20th is designated as World Children's Day and commemorative ceremonies are held, and this year marks the 35th anniversary. Like the other countries, Myanmar celebrates the World Children’s Day every year.
He urged Parents to listen carefully to their children's wishes and voices and take care of their mental and physical development. Also pay attention to the education sector for the children not only in literature, music, fine arts and sports but also other activities of the school. Then, a video clip commemorating the 35th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (World Children's Day) was shown and the entertainment program followed with the performances of children from pre-schools.
The Chief Minister, other officials and their wives presented honorary gifts to the children.
