





To mark the 34th anniversary of the convention on the rights of the child, the celebration of World Children’s Day was held at the City Hall of Taunggyi Township in Shan State on Thursday.
At the ceremony, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Zaw Aye mentioned the participation of children from elementary schools and charity schools in the commemorative activities. He said that the State committees on the Rights of the Children (CRC) have been formed and is carrying out the process in 50 townships of 22 districts.
The Chief Minister stressed that Children are the future of the country and it is needed to pay attention to their education and health sectors for their future safety. He urged committee members and relevant officials to cooperate in relevant sectors to understand the rights of children and to enjoy equal access for every child for the future of the country.
After that, the entertainment program followed with the performances of children from charity centers. The Chief Minister, State Ministers and their wives presented honorary gifts to the children.
