Natural Purple Star Sapphire weighing 3,563 carats which is claimed to be the world’s biggest of its kind was unveiled on Saturday in Colombo of Sri Lanka by the owners.

Gemologists note that its round cabochon cut, combined with its exceptional size, clarity and rich purple color, makes it the largest known round-cut natural purple star sapphire ever recorded. Experts added that world-renowned institutions, including the Smithsonian, regularly pursue such unique gems for preservation and public display.
