Season’s First Snow Falls on the World’s Second-Largest Crater Lake at Türkiye’s Nemrut Caldera. The Nemrut Caldera, honoured with the European Destinations of Excellence (EDEN) Award for its natural beauty and ecological value, has received the season’s first snowfall.

The caldera, home to the world’s second-largest crater lake at an altitude of 2,250 meters, transformed into a stunning white landscape after the recent snow. Drone footage captured postcard-worthy views as the fresh snow, drifting fog, and the lake’s deep blue waters came together in the same frame. The wintry transformation drew heavy weekend interest, with large numbers of visitors arriving to witness the caldera’s unique scenery.
