






The Union Civil Service Board (UCSB) in collaboration with the ASEAN Secretariatconvened Virtual Workshop on Upgrading the HRM Practices: Modernizing the Recruitment, Selection and Training Systems Among ASEAN Countries on 26thSeptemberat the office No. (17) of the Union Civil Service Board in Nay Pyi Taw through Virtual Platform. The virtual workshop has been conducted as one of the activities under the ASEAN Cooperation on Civil Service Matters-ACCSM Work Plan (2021-2025).
At the workshop, Chairman of the Union Civil Service Board, H.E. U Aung Thaw, Members andsenior officials from concerned Ministries and Organizations, representatives from the organizations of ASEAN countries related to the role of ASEAN Cooperation on Civil Service Matters (ACCSM), ACCSM Sectoral Bodies and ASEAN Secretariat, totally (80) participant sattended the workshop.
At the workshop, welcoming remarks was delivered by H.E. U Aung Thaw, Chairman of the Union Civil Service Board.According to the agenda, overview upon the importance of modernizing HRM practices in recruitment and selection was conducted by Daw Nan Phyu Phyu Pwint as Moderator, Director of the Civil Service Selection and Training Departmentunder the UCSB, individual presentations and the discussants from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and the Philippines. It was followed by recap session on presentation points from AMS by moderator.
In the afternoon session, overview upon the importance of modernizing HRM practices in training was conducted by U Tin Soe as Moderator, Professor of the Civil Service Academy (Upper Myanmar), individual presentations and the delegates of Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, and Viet Nam.It was followed by recap session summed up on presentation points from AMS by moderator.
Breakout group discussion was also conducted and wrap-up session was followed with key takeaways provided by H.E. U Kyaw Myo Htut, Member of the UCSB.The virtual workshop has been concluded with the closing remarks by H.E. U Aung Thaw, Chairman of the Union Civil Service Board.
