Working coordination meeting: Preparations for Peasants’ Day exhibition discussed

The Yangon Region Agriculture and Livestock Exhibition, commemorating the Peasants' Day, will be held at Bayint Naung Park near the BOC roundabout in Ward (7), Hlaing Tharyar Township.

A working coordination meeting for the event was held in the park's meeting hall on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Region ministers, officials from the Yangon City Development Committee, and heads of departments.

At the working coordination meeting, the Region Chief Minister stated that the exhibition and fair are being held primarily to honor farmers who are actively involved in agriculture and livestock industries. 

He emphasized the need for comprehensive displays related to agriculture and livestock and gave instructions on the necessary arrangements for the successful holding of the Yangon Region Agriculture and Livestock Exhibition and Fair commemorating the Peasants' Day.

Subsequently, the Minister for Economic Affairs, the Region Irrigation and Water Utilization Management Department, the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Livestock Breeding and Veterinary, the Department of Fisheries, and the Department of Small Scale Industries discussed the daily programs to be implemented.

Following this, the heads of the regional departments in charge of the booths and officials clarified the preparations made and the additional arrangements to be made according to the industrial sectors. The Region Chief Minister gave necessary instructions and stated that those responsible for each sector should coordinate to ensure the successful completion of the festival.

After that, the Region Chief Minister and officials toured the park to inspect the ongoing preparations.

The Yangon Region Agriculture and Livestock Exhibition commemorating Peasants’ will be open from February 28th to March 2nd, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM daily. As a special program, cooking oil and egg stalls will be selling daily, and musical performances will be held every night until 7:00 PM, it was reported.
