Work Undertakings: Tree planting and providing cash assistance

Under the guidance of the Kachin State Government, the Department of Rural Road Development conducted 2023 monsoon season trees planting ceremony at Sports and Physical Education Institute in Maw Phaung Village of Myitkyina Township on Wednesday.

Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htien Nan, together with the State Government Ministers, departmental officials, staffs from Township Development Affairs Committee, members from Kachin State Clean & Green Team and local residents, took part in the collective planting of more than 600 saplings of shady trees along the entrance road to the institute.

Then, Chief Minister and party cordially greeted to those who participated in tree planting activity. Next, the Chief Minister attended a ceremony to provide cash assistance to Rakhine ethnics who will return to their natives in the compound of State Government office.

At the ceremony, the Chief Minister said that due to the manipulation of overseas job agencies and brokers, those who find new job opportunities and intended to work abroad are facing difficulties for a long time without complete documents and papers.

Rescue measures are being undertaken for those victims, and efforts will be made for transporting them back to their homeland. After that, the Chief Minister and wife provided 8.4 million kyats cash assistance to 42 Rakhine ethnics who will return home.

One of Rakhine ethnics expressed words of thanks. And, the Chief Minister and party cordially greeted to the attendees and distributed the pamphlets, published by the anti-human trafficking task force. According to the request by Rakhine Literature and Culture Association, the Kachin State Government has been conducting rescue measures for the resettlement of Rakhine ethnics who are facing difficulties there.
